Research:
I work on the DØ
experiment at the Fermilab Tevatron
Collider. We are currently working on the measurement of the W
mass.
I also work on the ATLAS experiment
at
the Large Hadron Collider at CERN.
We
have disigned, built and installed the high voltage feedthrough system
for
the ATLAS liquid argon calorimeters. We are working on
calorimeter calibration amd missing ET.
We
have just performed the most accurate measurement of the W mass by a single experiment
(arXiv:0908.0766), submitted to Phys. Rev. Letters.
My publications are listed on SPIRES,
under the names Robert L. McCarthy, R. L. McCarthy, and R. McCarthy(on
D0 and ATLAS but NOT
LIGO).
Teaching:
I am currently teaching PHY301 Electromagnetic Theory.
Service:
I am the advisor for the teacher
certification programs for the Department of
Physics
and Astronomy.
